Thanos-HatziapostolouThanos Hatziapostolou is Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at CITY College, International Faculty of the University of Sheffield. He specializes in innovative and effective learning and teaching technologies and in the formulation and assessment of educational strategy, instructional goals and learning outcomes. He has been involved in the design, development, testing and evaluation of a number of innovative educational tools, systems and research projects, especially for higher education.

Research Interests

Mr. Hatziapostolou’s research interests are in the areas of educational technology and student engagement. His current research activities are primarily focused in the following interrelated thematic areas:

  • mobile technologies for facilitating learning and the student experience
  • formal and informal learning through social networks
  • innovative technologies for assessment and feedback
  • student engagement and motivation
  • computer science education, entrepreneurial education
