Dr. Pavlos Gkasis is a lecturer at the Business Administration and Economics Department of The International Faculty of The University of Sheffield, CITY College. He teaches Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Public Economics, Modern Financial Markets Institutions and Instruments and Introduction to Management.
His PhD was funded by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology as part of the PENED – 2003 Grant Fellowship Program (Programme for the Reinforcement of Research Students, 2006-2009). The title of his Thesis is: “The Effect of Foreign Direct Investment on Basic Sectors of the Greek Economy Through the Process of Technological Diffusion” and it was supervised by Associate Professor Persefoni Tsaliki.
He has also taught Quantitative Methods for Business, Business Statistics, Money and Banking, International Financial Management, Business Economics and Principles of Management.
He has been a member of the organising committee of the 8th South East European Doctoral Student Conference as the Chair of Research Track 1: ‘Enterprise, Innovation & Development’. The conference was successfully held in Thessaloniki on 16-17 September 2013 and was organised by the South East European Research Centre (SEERC) and the University of Belgrade. He is currently the Chair of the 9th South East European Doctoral Student Conference which will be held in Thessaloniki on 25-26 September 2014.
